The future of basketball in Guyana was on display at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall as Youth Basketball Guyana successfully concluded its two-day Mini Basketball Jamboree and Festival.
The grassroots event brought together 79 young athletes from eight schools, providing an opportunity for participants to develop their skills, build friendships, and enjoy the game in a positive and supportive environment.
Designed for children in the 7-9 and 10-12 age groups, the festival focused on player development, confidence-building, teamwork, and fostering a lifelong passion for basketball rather than competition alone.
Organizers hailed the event as a success, highlighting the importance of grassroots programmes in nurturing the next generation of Guyanese basketball talent.
