St. Joseph’s Secondary School in Fiji has concluded its 70th Platinum Jubilee celebrations, marking seven decades of education, faith and sisterhood.
The week-long anniversary celebrations ended with a Closing Thanksgiving Mass at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Suva, bringing together alumnae representing different generations and communities from around the world.
Throughout the celebrations, former students returned to Suva to reconnect, reflect on their experiences and honour the legacy of the school and its patron, Blessed Anne Marie Javouhey.
During the closing Mass, Father Isikeli reminded those gathered that their talents and education are gifts from God and carry a responsibility to serve others. He also highlighted the importance of veiwekani — interconnectedness and relationships — encouraging alumnae to make those values part of their everyday lives.
Organizers described the anniversary as a celebration not only of the school’s history, but also of the lasting bonds among generations of women who have passed through the institution.
The Platinum Jubilee concluded under the message, “Seventy Years. Seven Decades. One Sisterhood. Stronger Together.”
