Dominican all-rounder Jedd Joseph continues to make a strong impression in Canadian club cricket, delivering a series of outstanding performances with both bat and ball for Ceylon Cricket Academy in the Toronto and District Cricket Association (TDCA) Elite 50-over competition and Lexus Cricket Club in the Markham Cricket Association Premier Division.
Joseph has demonstrated his growing reputation as a genuine all-rounder, producing important runs while consistently making an impact with the ball.
For Ceylon Cricket Academy, his recent performances include scores of 53, 59 and 39, complemented by impressive bowling returns of 5 for 36, 3 for 31 and 3 for 14, respectively. His ability to contribute in both disciplines has made him a valuable member of the Ceylon side and provided him with important exposure to a highly competitive standard of Canadian club cricket.
Joseph has been equally impressive representing Lexus Cricket Club in the Markham Premier Division. In one standout performance against Challengers Cricket Club, he scored 33 from 45 balls before claiming 4 wickets for just 13 runs from five overs. He followed this with figures of 4 for 16 against Bindaas and 3 for 26 against KCC.
His consistency with the ball has seen him emerge as Lexus Cricket Club’s leading wicket-taker, with 15 wickets from just five matches at an outstanding average of 7.87.
The Canadian stint represents another important step in Joseph’s development, exposing the young Dominican cricketer to different playing conditions, opposition and competitive environments. More importantly, his performances have demonstrated his ability to influence matches with both bat and ball.
With consistent contributions across two competitions, Joseph continues to strengthen his credentials as a promising all-rounder while gaining valuable overseas experience that should contribute significantly to his continued development
