Preparations for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 are gathering pace in Jamaica as competitors, experts, and technical leaders from around the world participate in the Studica Robotics Training Camp currently being held at the Cardiff Hotel and Spa in Runaway Bay, St. Ann.
The week-long training camp, hosted by WorldSkills Jamaica, HEART/NSTA Trust, and Studica Robotics, has brought together participants from Jamaica, Barbados, China, Brazil, and Singapore to enhance their skills in Autonomous Mobile Robotics and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), two rapidly expanding fields in modern technology.
During the first two days of the programme, participants engaged in intensive hands-on training designed to expose them to international competition standards, emerging technologies, and the demands of performing on the global stage.
Organizers say the camp is helping to strengthen technical competencies, foster international collaboration, and prepare competitors for success at the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 competition, while advancing innovation and workforce development in the region.
