Several Dominican students at Monroe University were among those celebrated for their outstanding academic excellence during the University’s Latin Awards Ceremony on June 8th in New Rochelle, New York. The event took place just days before the University’s Commencement on June 11 at New York City’s iconic Radio City Music Hall.
Latin Honors recognition highlights the remarkable achievements of students who have distinguished themselves through academic excellence throughout their studies. Arade Moses earned magna cum laude (“with high honors”) recognition; Kimon Elizee, Tyra Francis, Milano Remie, and Charnel Seraphine all earned summa cum laude (“with highest honors”) recognition for their impressive cumulative GPAs.
Milano Remie, who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA, also received the Dean’s Award from the School of Allied Health Professions. The honor is presented to graduates selected by their dean who best exemplify the University’s values and represent the highest ideals of their academic program.
The achievements of the proud Dominican students included among this year’s honorees serve as a source of pride for the community and an inspiration for future generations pursuing higher education.
The Dominican graduates credited their success to the unwavering support of their families, faculty members, and University leadership. Many pointed to Monroe University’s inclusive environment, personalized mentorship, and commitment to student achievement as key factors in helping them excel academically and reach their educational goals.
They also gave special thanks to University President Marc Jerome, as well as Dominican nationals Staren Brayboy, Roberta Cascio, and Joeane Laurent, for their guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout the students’ educational experience.
