Dominica’s national javelin athlete Addison James has been appointed a Sports Ambassador for the Commonwealth of Dominica, effective September 1, 2026.
The Dominica Olympic Committee has congratulated the young athlete on the appointment, describing it as another significant milestone in his developing sporting career.
In 2025, James was awarded an LA28 Olympic Scholarship through Olympic Solidarity to support his training and development as he works towards qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
James has continued to make his mark on the regional and international athletics stage, including capturing back-to-back CARIFTA Games gold medals and representing Dominica with distinction.
His appointment as Sports Ambassador recognizes both his achievements to date and his potential to continue inspiring young athletes while representing Dominica on the international stage.
